4G LTE Verizon Network coming to Chattanooga area in July

Chattanooga getting 4G LTE NetworkNext month, Chattanooga and the surrounding areas will be receive the powerful Verizon 4G LTE network. A Verizon press release states the 4G LTE Broadband mobile network provides speeds “up to 10 times faster” than its current 3G network.

Verizon expects “average data rates in real-world, loaded network environments to be 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.” The faster 4G LTE network will allow greater usability, including these functions:

· Smooth mobile video-conferencing
· Multiple, simultaneous video streams
· Speedy transfer of large files
· Running of powerful programs
· Downloading of songs in seconds and movies in minutes

Some of the smartphones that will be available to run on the 4G network include:

· Revolution™ by LG,
· DROID Charge by Samsung and
· ThunderBolt™ by HTC
· MiFi® 4510L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot
· Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot

The surrounding areas receiving the upgrade include: Bakewell, Birchwood, Collegedale, Dayton, East Ridge, Ft Oglethorpe, Georgetown, Harrison, Hixson, Lakeview, Lookout Mountain, Lupton City, Midway, Ooltewah, Red Bank, Ringgold, Rossville, Sale Creek, Shepherd and Soddy Daisy

The list, the “Talkin’ Cloud 50,” analyzes cloud providers on a set of metrics including revenue, revenue growth, percentage growth and number of end users accessing the company’s cloud. The ranking means the Knoxville and Chattanooga-focused IT support company is among the top cloud providers in the country.
